Massey University Microbiology
BSC Microbiology at Massey University
One of only two BSc Microbiology programs in New Zealand, Massey's degree benefits from drawing on Massey expertise in a broad range of microbiology sub-disciplines. As a result we offer an exceptionally broad program with a solid base and lots of scope for specialisation.
We love both our teaching and our research. Our research feeds into our teaching - what you'll learn will always be up-to-date. One of our team, Zoe Jordens, has research interests in both microbiology and education. Her educational research helps us to constantly improve how we deliver our material and how we assess our students' progress in the most meaningful way.
Every one of our courses includes a substantial laboratory component, teaching you core and specialist microbiology techniques. Many courses have project-based lab exercises, where you learn how to apply these techniques to solve a practical problem.
